Project Description

ABOUT

In my Iliffe Yard studio I work on painting, drawings and sculptures which examine specific pieces of literature and music and the architectural spaces in which the readings and performances of these texts unfold.

I aim to convey in paint or clay the moment or moments when text, performance and environment come together as a visual metaphor for the experience of reading or hearing a text or a piece of music in a particular space.

My recent work has arisen out of drawings and studies done during recitals and concerts in St Luke’s Old Street, St John’s Smith Square, St Alfege Greenwich and other London churches.

I am currently working on drawings and paintings inspired by Schubert’s String Quintet in C, performed in St Martin-in-the-Fields by the Gagiliano Ensemble. These will be exhibited with recent paintings of Mozart’s String Quartet K.421 performed by the Lazarus Quartet in St Martin-in-the-Fields, at 54 The Gallery, Shepherd Market, London W1 in 2016 and in various venues across London and abroad.
